Populate the aisle

Populate the aisle
Anxious for a feast
you, carving my attention
Like a daily pot roast
on one morning, I saw the world
before you made me your breakfast
of the secret of how  we  could be
but your  milk and sugar overcame me
and blinded my sight in a shroud

2014

If only to see

I, like salvini, am about succumb
cufflinks inline with elbows
are the poet's witness
death's angel, a time of grace
To recount
 his steps
 his loves
 before the exit

2014

Salty Tears

my joys
are now
a Life of metallic shrivel
of slowly Squeezed  toothpaste

Love  as a verb for clowns
Oh how were things done from the start
In a world  that shoots dreams down
Is it true that I was conceived  with  the heart

2014

Hope for a girl

A permanence of movement
circles trying to fit  squares
habits of disbelief
 next door
 to a fairytale
that stubbornly
refuses to leave

chase away  hope
before it stabs my  heart
before the morning pancakes
when you exit  with  the sun
I was ambushed by beauty at dusk
along with conspiring moonbeams

 in the furrows my frown
as  your trellis skirt
floats over the mud
I find the poetry  I  lost
in the patterns of your blouse
a circle  of blue squares

2014

A whisperer of joy

Saying hi to
the whisperer of  tunes
in between my dreams
I long struggled to remember
before the portal opened
when I heard  you
kick

Birdsong

For what have I come
3 score and ten
I never wanted for pronouns
To describe my existence
But on this day after words
The Departed  float on the upright corner of the room
Smilingly softly
At  my  dreaming  nights
My questioning  days
And the strange pressure in my chest
That  hides the answer

2013

And finally

Once there was  a  melody
I Played to death
When the body’s  energy traffic
finally found, the heart
And lyrically I swam in warm water
Floating with my arms open
And with a smile
 I knew
